A short story of how Semeli was born

A grey lifeless concrete skeleton erected in 1994 was an abandoned construction site for almost two decades. In 2010 our family business bought the structure and the land  with the vision to transform the abandoned soulless building into a contemporary hotel in harmony with the surrounding natural environment. As the initial design could not meet the expectations of a modern hotel, a radical transformation was needed. An award-winning Greek architect of the up-and-coming generation, undertook the redesign of the hotel.

The proposed new plans included radical changes and some parts of the initial construction were demolished. The best materials were sourced from all around Greece which required numerous trips to factories, dealers and even the mining fields for choosing the right stone color.

The combination of contemporary design and traditional natural materials create an ambient yet warm feeling from the first sight. Today, this once neglected and abandoned building has been transformed into a stylish  luxurious accommodation.
